Loose Leaf

There is an oak tree down the street and a leaf was on the ground when I walked by.  I had some fun.

Faerie House: Back-to-school 2024

 

“What are you about with the feathers?”asked Frog.

“It is back-to-school time and I want to celebrate some special kids,” said T1, getting busy with paper, scissors and feathers. 

“Do you have any plans for back-to-school?” asked T1. “I'm registered for a book binding class. ”

Frog paused, then said, “I have encouraged T2 to take a Culinary Arts class and I want to support T2 in that endeavour.” 

“That sounds great!” said T1. Then, with a big grin, said, “You’ll be a super supper supporter.”

Meanwhile, down by the garden:

 “You’ve been amazing in the garden this year,” Hedgehog said to Rabbit. “It’s like you have done this your whole life.”

“I am interested,” said Rabbit, “but I don’t know a lot. I am going to take a Horticulture course this fall so I can bring some real knowledge to gardening next year.”

“Master Gardener Rabbit has a nice ring to it,” said Hedgehog encouragingly. 

Later in the day, Dragon headed to the faerie house.

 “Hallloooooooo,” called Dragon.

“Over here,” called Dog.

Dragon joined the friends.

 “We’ve been talking about back-to-school,” said Dog, “and sharing our plans.”

“I’m taking a Culinary Arts course,” said T2 excitedly. “Frog is going to help me.”

“Wonderful!” said Dragon. “Who else has plans?”

“I’m taking a bookbinding class,” said T1.

“I’m taking accordion lessons,” said Dog.

“I’m taking a writing course,” said Hedgehog.

“A writing course, Hedgehog?” asked Dog, “That is so cool! You write the book and T1 can bind it!”

Everyone turned to Dragon, “How about you?” they all asked.

Dragon laughed, “You’ll like this. I’m taking a short course on Controlled Burns. I think I can bring something useful to that kind of project.” 

Everyone clapped. 

“Now we need to celebrate our kids. They are growing up so fast!” said T1, “Wait a minute. I made something.”

  “Here’s to the new school year. May it be fun, challenging, and creative. Let’s all learn a lot!” said T1.
