The Meerkats Take Victoria

The meerkats were told to arrive at the airport very early for their flight from Edmonton to Victoria. No one was even working at the desk at the gate yet. 

As soon as they got to Victoria they had second breakfast down by Oak Bay and enjoyed the view.

It was a short walk to Willows beach. It has good sand for playing in. They quickly built a mound to stand on.

There were decisions to be made at the wool store. The colours were beautiful and there were so many kinds of yarn.

Bike lanes, cherry blossoms, streets that change names: there was so much to keep track of when driving in Victoria.

It was fun to return to the rock-throwing beach.

The inner harbour with the Empress in view is a great place to watch people. There weren't very many other meerkats.

One of the meerkats was very interested in Emily Carr's paintings at the Art Gallery. Her brush strokes show how lively the land and sky are.

What a great lookout on the top of Mount Douglas. The meerkats were sure glad that most of the climbing was done by the car.

There were so many shades of green in the rain forest. There was also some rain.

It isn't everyday that you get to go to a castle. The view was good from this little fellow.

The last adventure was to the Esquimalt Lagoon. There were several drift wood animals there. The meerkats checked out the otter.
