The Flying Ladies

 I have run across images of flying women before, most recently in a gallery in Montevideo.  My urge to make my own flying women overwhelmed my interest in making a purchase, and I wasn't sure if the one in question was flying or falling. I am only interested in flying. 

Again, I recycled materials. 

Wee Hedgehog Burrow

 A theme of small dioramas is developing. I have been prepping a crafty gift which will be revealed later. In the meantime I had an idea to experiment with plasticine rather than paper. I had the wee hedgehog from the top of a pen. I will admit that I was attracted to the pen because of the hedgehog, and felt obligated to give it another purpose when the pen ran out of ink. I also have a small collection of containers. This tin is 9 cm across and 3cm deep. I spray painted the top because it looked a bit rough. 

After some weeks away, it was nice to be making. 

Not an idea of greatness, but I work with the ideas that are delivered to me. 

Embroidery Floss Box

 I have made a few attempts at organizing my embroidery thread, but these systems were unsustainable and scrambled threads ensued. I have seen lovely boxes with purpose-made spools and decided to produce my own using mostly cereal boxes with some other cardboard that has come into the house. 

Organized spaces for thread, the pieces of split threads, whole skeins and needles.

The wrapping spool. The centre notch holds the starting end, the side notch holds the end. 

This project also satisfied my love of recycling and making boxes.
