Happy Summer Solstice from the Faerie House

 If you walk past the stick people....

... to the great big tree....

... you will find the faerie house ready for the summer solstice.

Can you find the empty nest? The eggs have hatched and the baby birds have grown up and flown away. 

There has been lots of work done. The tools are put aside for the moment.

The flowers are growing.

The sprinkler is on.

Now it is time to relax. Do you see Dog and Frog? They have gone fishing in the pond.

There are towels hanging on the line, just in case they fall in.

It is also a lovely day for a wedding.

I seem committed to making a lot of mistakes. The learning process continues with these lino blocks. Experiments on fabric are forthcoming.

Pocket Meerkat Factory

 My grandson really likes meerkats. He and I have that in common. We made a bunch of meerkats out of paper in January. There were never enough. His parents wondered if the house would be filled with meerkats.

His birthday is coming up. I knit 4 pocket cats for his sister, so it stands to reason that I should make 7 pocket meerkats for him. Seven felt like a big number while I was working on this. Here is the factory:

And here are the kats. They are about 7 cm (3 inches) high.
