Blanket Bears

 These bears are made from what remains of a blanket that my parents received as a gift either for the wedding or early in their marriage. They are 33cm (13") tall. 

Birthday Number: Nine

Last year as a single digit number. 

Tiny House Book

 This little book is about 2"x 2" (5cm x 5cm). My grandson wants to make little houses when I visit, and we have made a kind of little house before. I thought this might interest him because he likes to draw small things and the structure is kind of cool. 

I saw versions of this, but not the one-piece-of-paper structure that I came up with. Here's the finished version:

Here is the basic structure. I used a piece of paper that is close to 8" square. 

The fold lines

Cut out the centre square

Start at an open edge and fold up the floor, press the walls together, carry on all around. 

You can see what is a wall and what is a floor. 

Fold it like a book. 

Do all the drawing, colouring and cutting while the paper is still flat. Glue the walls together for stability. Add a cover. 

The Catalogue of Very Small Books

 Introduction

After a project I had a pile of off-cuts.  I made my Christmas cards from these scraps, but there was still a large pile left. I toyed with a few ideas but settled on making books until the supply was gone. 

As I made one book, I'd have an idea or notion for the next. There are a few blank books, some art books,  reference books, colouring books, a cook book, a how-to book, poetry, notes on a sermon, quotations, questions and collections of words. 

The off-cuts were 11' x 1". The books are 5.5" x 1", 2 3/4" x 1", 1 3/8" x 1" and 2" x 1/2". 

These are all FREE FOR THE ASKING.
